Camille : Book Recommendations

Nowadays some of the best stories are told through books. Books spread positive messages and one author sharing their story can make an impact on countless lives. Here are two books that I recently read and think should be shared with the world.

Swing Time - Zadie Smith

​In this novel, Zadie Smith tells the story of friendship and family history. I think this book shows that when we meet people, we always meet them for a reason. And we can always learn something from the people surrounding us, even if we only interact for a second. This book is nicely written, and because it was published just last year in 2016 it includes many concepts and ideas that I think most people can relate to.

I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings - Maya Angelou

This classic novel is one of the seven autobiographies of Maya Angelou. In this novel Angelou,  a poet, a writer, and an inspiring civil rights activist, tells her story of growing up with her brother in Arkansas and learning to love herself over time. I loved reading this book and think it spreads a great message. Angelou's story is very inspiring and even though it was written almost 50 years ago, it still is spreads a message that needs to be heard today.
